There are many reasons that we chose to live in our little town. Boerne is small town USA at it's finest. It's safe, economically sound, small and it has some awesome parades. We recently started receiving the Hill Country Weekly. We aren't sure if we get it because every resident gets it. We don't pay for it despite the prominent 75 cent cost of the paper being plastered at the top of the front page. If someone paid for our subscription - thank you. If we get it by accident, please don't tell anyone. We really love to spend our Thursday evenings reading it.
Our favorite section... wait for it... the Police Reports. If these crimes are as bad as it gets, we might be living here forever. For your reading enjoyment, here are a few of the highlights of the past week:
- 6:24pm 1100 S Main - concerned caller reports an intoxicated man is pushing a double baby stroller containing two kids near a busy street. The drunk is released to the care of his dippy wife, and the kids are released to the care of their sober father.
dippy wife?
- 9:02am 200 Water St - parents and teachers witness a young couple behaving very inappropriately in a car at a car wash. Officer cites the pair and advises them as to the seriousness of their actions.
sweet!
- 2:44am 200 Stone Creek - caller reports a couple that came to her door looking for assistance were so drunk they couldn't change a flat tire.
- 6:02pm 600 N Hwy 87 - goats escape; officer puts them back.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
There are many serious calls that get printed in the paper. We aren't that small town. I just chose not to focus on the bad and stick to the funny. Life is full of decisions and i'm choosing to enjoy the rare treasure that is our small town. We are lucky and we know it.
