This year's March for Babies was wonderful, to say the least. Our team raised $845 for the March of Dimes. We were honored to walk again. It was an emotional morning that made me feel very grateful to be apart of this event.
The kids did really well considering we woke them much earlier than they would have liked.
There were many more walkers this year and the weather, tho cloudy, was just right.
My competitive spirit wanted to get to the front of the line but Mark kept reminding me that our stroller wouldn't just "nudge" people out of the way :) There were A LOT of walkers in front of us. Next year i'll do a better job of jockying for position.
My boys
It was a little unfair to have been at seaworld and the children didn't get to see any sea creatures. They did get to see "Bevo", though. This long horn was one of the only animals that we could see. For those of you not familiar with Texas football, bevo is the long horn mascot of the University of Texas. My kids LOVE long horns (the animals, not the team) but somehow they have been brainwashed to call all long horns, Bevo.
Towards the end of the walk we took a bathroom break and let the kids out of the stroller.
They ran
and ran
and ran
and ran.
We drew a crowd after a while and decided that it was time to move on.
We had such a great time! We are very grateful for all of the donations that, once again, surpased our goal for this year. Next year we hope to have a lot of people walking with us in addition to raising money.
**If anyone would still like to make a donation, the March of Dimes will accept donations towards our team effort until May 31st. We are so close to $1000!!!
