My in-laws came to visit this weekend and brought the boys a wonderful set of blocks. They can dump out the blocks and then put them back in through the lid. The blocks are different colors so we can work on teaching them colors as well. I am a huge fan of toys with no sound and no lights. If for no other reason than they can be extraordinarily annoying. My kids seem to enjoy "making" things out of their toys and they really like toys that let them use their imaginations.
They also came with one Elmo drill that makes noises like a real drill and the bit moves. Of course, Hudson has claimed it for his own and Garrett gets to use it when Hudson is busy with the blocks. Sometimes Hudson just holds the drill so that his brother can't have it. We are working on sharing but find that it is really hard. Hudson is so dominant and Garrett is so passive. Isn't sharing one of the fundamentals of getting past pre-school? Does this mean that we are failing Hudson and working overtime on Garrett? Besides, as of this morning, Garrett knows all of his colors and Hudson is using his drill to "fix" every one's feet.
